Promissory Notes & Trust Deeds

Some real estate transactions in which I am involved include some level of seller financing. In the past, many of these transactions were handled by use of a real estate contract. While real estate contracts are used still (sometimes by my office, too), the most common way to structure seller financing is by a promissory note which is then secured by a Trust Deed (essentially this performs the same function as a mortgage did years ago). While these are not complex, the amount involved usually makes it advisable to have an experienced real estate attorney prepare them for you.
